GamifIR 2016 announce IGGI academic as keynote
Posted 09th June 2016
The keynote speaker for the Third International Workshop on Gamification for Information Retrieval (GamifIR 2016) has been announced. IGGI is delighted that this speaker will be Dr Sebastian Deterding. Sebastian is a supervisor in the IGGI community as well as being a key member of IGGI's sister project, the Digital Creativity Labs.
And if you look closely at the GamifIR 2016 website, you will also recognise not just one but two core IGGI faces - Udo Kruschwitz who serves as co-organiser and Richard Bartle who was the keynote speaker at the first GamifIR workshop at ECIR 2014 in Amsterdam.
GamifIR focuses on the challenges and opportunities that Gamification can present for the IR community. The workshop, organized in conjunction with SIGIR 2016, aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from a wide range of areas including game design, information retrieval, human-computer interaction, computer games, and natural language processing.
