IGGI students take on the Starcraft challenge

Posted 04th January 2018

At the end of January, IGGI students Daniel Hernandez, Peter York and Henrik Siljebråt travelled to Copenhagen to attend a workshop for Google DeepMind's Starcraft II AI framework. They were accompanied by Hendrik Baier, a postdoc researcher from the Digital Creativity Labs at the University of York.

At the workshop they began work on a project to use multi-agent reinforcement for unit micromanagement in Starcraft II. Daniel and Peter intend to continue work on this project and explore this area further.

This was a good opportunity to meet other AI professionals interested in working with Starcraft II. They were able to share insight, ideas and achievements with game AI researchers across Europe. It has also sparked a promising project for Daniel and Peter. Watch this space to see how their project develops.
